Director of Bands - Brian Logan PDF Print
Brian LoganBrian J. Logan assumed the Director of Bands position at Wheeling High School in 1990.  In 2002 Mr. Logan added Coordinator of Fine and Performing Arts at Wheeling High School to his Director of Bands responsibilities.

The Wheeling Bands participate in various festivals throughout the mid-west and have consistently been recognized for excellence in concert, jazz and marching band performances.  Ensembles under Mr. Logan’s direction have performed at the Mid-West International Band and Orchestra Clinic, the University of Illinois SuperState Concert Band Festival, the International Association of Jazz Educators Conference, and the Bands of America National Concert Band Festival.  Mr. Logan’s groups have been winners in Down Beat Magazine’s Annual Student Music Awards ten times and earned Grand Champion at the prestigious Jazz in the Meadows Jazz Festival.

Mr. Logan has been recognized by Quinlan and Fabish Music, East Maine School District 63, Township High School District 214,  the Illinois State Senate, and the United States Congress for Excellence in Music Education.  The National Band Association has awarded Mr. Logan five “Citation of Excellence” awards, and he was awarded a Paul Harris Fellow from the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.

Mr. Logan received a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music (1983), and a Master’s  in Educational  Administration from  Northeastern  Illinois  University  (1989).  He  is  a  member  of  IMEA, MENC, IAJE, and ASBDA.  Mr. Logan is also an active adjudicator, clinician, percussionist, and guest conductor.
